Eleven People, Four Countries, Zero Things That Went Wrong

Organizing a trek for eleven colleagues across four different countries, with varying fitness levels and two vegetarians and one person who’d never left Europe before, is the kind of project that can go wrong in about a hundred ways. I was the one who booked EBC Trails and the one who would’ve had to answer for it if anything went sideways.
Nothing went sideways. Pre-trip communication was quick and clear. Permits, airport transfers, dietary requirements — all handled without me chasing anyone. When one colleague developed mild altitude symptoms near Dingboche, the guide made the call to have him rest an extra day without any drama or pressure. He made it to Base Camp the following day.
I’ll be honest: I was watching everything pretty critically the whole time. I couldn’t find much to complain about.
