I Did This Trek Before With Someone Else. There’s No Comparison

Did EBC four years ago with a different company. That trip was fine—got to Base Camp, came home, and moved on. When I decided to go back and try the Three Passes route, I used EBC Trails on a friend’s recommendation.
The difference I noticed most was how the guide handled the group dynamic. We had eight people with pretty different motivations for being there—one guy was clearly treating it as a race, and one woman was processing something personal and just needed quiet. Our guide read the room and somehow managed to keep everyone moving without forcing everyone into the same experience. No idea how he does that, but it’s not nothing.
Logistics were tighter than my previous trip. No missed pickups, no wrong permits, no waiting around confused in Lukla. If you’ve done this trail before with someone else and thought it was just okay—worth trying again with this team.
